Coach (2019): Jonathan Kountis
Coaching Philosophy: The purpose of the showcase team is to allow those players who can compete at a higher level an opportunity to play in a highly competitive environment. This team will apply to tournaments only but the tournament will be highly competitive with exceptional competition. Playing in these tournament will allow the kids to be looked on by scouts and better their overall play vs. great competition. But more importantly, these are players who need to continue to challenge themselves against the best competition which is the REAL reason players who are accepted should play on this team. Playing on this team will require a commitment both from a training perspective and financially. The goal will be to keep the costs to a minimum, which we will discuss in more detail during the team meeting after tryouts. We will also plan to have a smaller roster of around 16 players which players will have to compete for opportunities for playing time.
Games: The A's team has applied to play in the Diamond League and several showcase tournaments. We travel to out of town tournaments within Ohio. There are about 5 tournaments that we are going to compete in.
Roster: 16-17 players (approx.) including/plus potential pitcher only (P.O.) at the coach's discretion.
